One a Day Prenatal Vitamins are affordable and readily available at most grocery stores. The question is, do One A Day Prenatal Vitamins Plus DHA offer everything your growing baby so desperately needs? The nutrients your prenatal vitamins provide is critical for your developing baby.
One A Day Plus DHA Prenatal Vitamins Ingredients In Depth
One A Day Plus DHA does contain some of the important ingredients needed during pregnancy. However, I would like to see more ingredients and higher dosage amounts.
Take calcium for example, One A Day Plus DHA Prenatal only contains 23% of your recommended daily value. Your pretnatal vitamins needs to contain more than 50% of the recommended daily value. Calcium is not only critical for your developing baby, but its important to keep your bones healthy and strong.
One a Day Plus DHA does contain a stool softener, I would rather see probiotics to help with constipation caused by pregnancy. Your body can become dependant on stool softeners. Probiotics not only naturally help constipation, they also boost your immune system.
Advantages of One A Day Plus DHA
- Contains DHA, which is great for brain development.
- Readily available at most large grocery stores.
Disadvantages of One A Day Plus DHA
- Contains Artificial Dye
- Does not contain enough calcium
- Does not contain Probiotics
- Comes in tablet form, which is hard to swallow and bad for absorption.
Cost Of One A Day Plus DHA Prenatal Vitamins
This prenatal vitamin costs around $10.00- $15.00 for a month supply. This is affordable, but there are quite a few concerns that in my opinion override the affordability.
One A Day Plus DHA Prenatal Vitamins Recommendation
After researching this prenatal vitamin, I just can’t recommend it. It contains questionable ingredients, and low concentrations of important vitamins and minerals. Even though its affordable, its not the prenatal vitamin I would choose. Don’t get me wrong its better than nothing, but its for sure not the best. I would look for something with double the amount of calcium, that does not contain synthetic dyes.
Best Prenatal VitaminAfter doing some research and taking as many as 6 different types of prenatal vitamins, I found a prenatal vitamin that works well for me, its called Prenatalgyn. Prenatalgyn contains all the essential ingredients, that recent research has found to be supportive for a healthy pregnancy. On top of all this many professionals and consumers have written and stated great things about this product.
Prenatalgyn Prenatal Vitamin is simply amazing. It only took a few days of taking Prenatalgyn and I could feel a noticeable difference. I suffer from extreme morning sickness (Hyperemesis gravidarum) and the ginger in Prenatalgyn significantly improved my morning sickness, this was a huge blessing (if you've ever had morning sickness you know what I mean!). I was able to swallow the capsules easily. I also seemed to have a better appetite, and it included all of the most important ingredients at the right amounts. Prenatalgyn does not contain any artificial colors, preservatives, or hydrogenated oils which are not good to have. I would highly recommend Prenatalgyn if you're pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
