Spring Valley Prenatal Multivitamin
Does Spring Valley Prenatal Multivitamin contain all of your necessary vitamins and minerals?
Spring Valley’s prenatal vitamin contains vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, calcium, iron, and zinc. While these are all good ingredients to have in a prenatal vitamin, I have a few problems with the overall content of these vitamins. We’ll discuss them in a minute.
Does Spring Valley Prenatal Multivitamin use the safest ingredients?
Although this product should not be considered dangerous, it does come in tablet form and contains artificial color in the forms of red 40, yellow 6, and blue 2. Personally I prefer to take a prenatal vitamin that comes in capsule form and does not contain anything artificial.
Does Spring Valley Prenatal Multivitamin contain high-end ingredients?
Unfortunately, Spring Valley Prenatal Multivitamin does not contain probiotics, DHA, CoQ10, inositol, choline, or ginger. These are generally considered “high-end” ingredients in the world of prenatal vitamins, and it can be difficult to find a prenatal vitamin that has all of them. However, I highly encourage you to do some research and shop for a prenatal vitamin that will contain these important ingredients.
Final Thoughts
Personally, the only truly remarkable thing about this prenatal vitamin is its low cost. For $15, you can purchase a bottle of 240 tablets (a whopping 8 month supply). However, in this case, I have to suspect that you get what you pay for. Although Spring Valley Prenatal Multivitamin contains folic acid, iron, and calcium, and various other vitamins that are helpful for pregnancy (like B vitamins), the fact that there are no high-end ingredients makes it very hard to take this prenatal vitamin seriously. Furthermore, although a dose contains calcium, 200mg is really not enough for a prenatal vitamin.
In conclusion, I encourage you to buy your prenatal vitamin based on quality and value, not just a cheap price tag. Pregnancy is one of the most important times in the lives of you and your child, and enjoying a healthy pregnancy is far more important than saving a few dollars. Do yourself a favor and keep looking for a prenatal vitamin that can offer you more for your money, even if you have to pay a bit more.
Best Prenatal Vitamin
After doing some research and taking as many as 6 different types of prenatal vitamins, I found a prenatal vitamin that works well for me, its called Prenatalgyn. Prenatalgyn contains all the essential ingredients, that recent research has found to be supportive for a healthy pregnancy. On top of all this many professionals and consumers have written and stated great things about this product.
Prenatalgyn Prenatal Vitamin is simply amazing. It only took a few days of taking Prenatalgyn and I could feel a noticeable difference. I suffer from extreme morning sickness (Hyperemesis gravidarum) and the ginger in Prenatalgyn significantly improved my morning sickness, this was a huge blessing (if you've ever had morning sickness you know what I mean!). I was able to swallow the capsules easily. I also seemed to have a better appetite, and it included all of the most important ingredients at the right amounts. Prenatalgyn does not contain any artificial colors, preservatives, or hydrogenated oils which are not good to have. I would highly recommend Prenatalgyn if you're pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
