GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron
Does GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron contain all of your necessary vitamins and minerals?
You cannot expect to eat more when you are pregnant. What with all the nausea and other changes going on with your body, you might barely get to eat a normal sized meal. Prenatal vitamins to the rescue! You have to rely on a prenatal vitamin that can give you what your diet cannot.
GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron includes all the essential vitamins and minerals you would want during pregnancy. However, you have to be cautious when it comes to this specific prenatal vitamin and others as well. Do not look at the %DV (percentage of daily value) column. With iron, for example, GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron says that there is 100% daily value. However, the amount right next to it, 18 mg, is not nearly enough for your pregnancy needs. “With Iron” must not mean “The adequate amount of Iron.”
Does GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron use the safest ingredients?
Free of artificial ingredients, GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron seems to have ingredients that are safe for your overall health. One of the problems with GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron seems to be that there is not enough of some ingredients. Certain ingredients will create a conducive atmosphere for growth for your baby. Those are the kinds of ingredients that you want to make sure you are getting enough of during pregnancy.
Does GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron contain high-end ingredients?
Some high-end ingredients found in GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron are Choline, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin D3, and Vitamin A.
The small amount of Choline is really not adequate for your daily pregnancy needs. Choline is important for your baby’s learning, memory, and overall brain development. Giving it at least 20 mg is ideal, but GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron only has 550 mcg of Choline.
Ten milligrams of Vitamin B6 in GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron is only about half of what you need on a daily basis. With enough Vitamin B6 in your diet, you can ensure that you don’t miscarry.
Vitamin D3 can improve your bone health and reduce your chances of developing preeclampsia. Fortunately, the adequate amount of Vitamin D3 is contained in GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron.
Finally, the other high-end ingredient that can be harmful if you get too much is Vitamin A. With 4500 IU in GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron, your baby will be able to fight off infection while it is developing inside of you.
Final Thoughts
While perusing through the label and looking at the front of the box of GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron, I noticed that there was a disconnect between the information on the front and the information on the nutrition label. The nutrition information says that there is 1000 mcg of Folic Acid and 600 mg of Calcium. The front, on the other hand, waters those numbers down to only 800 mcg of Folic Acid and 500 mg of Calcium. I don’t know about you, but I think information on the same package needs to be pretty much consistent. Which one am I supposed to believe? It would be ideal if the nutrition information was the truth, but maybe it is the front of the package that is the truth-teller.
Besides that little mix-up, GNC Women’s Prenatal Formula with Iron is not the best prenatal vitamin on the market. Trimedisyn is a prenatal vitamin that you can count on for all your nutritional needs before, during, and after delivering your sweet baby.
Best Prenatal Vitamin
After doing some research and taking as many as 6 different types of prenatal vitamins, I found a prenatal vitamin that works well for me, its called Prenatalgyn. Prenatalgyn contains all the essential ingredients, that recent research has found to be supportive for a healthy pregnancy. On top of all this many professionals and consumers have written and stated great things about this product.
Prenatalgyn Prenatal Vitamin is simply amazing. It only took a few days of taking Prenatalgyn and I could feel a noticeable difference. I suffer from extreme morning sickness (Hyperemesis gravidarum) and the ginger in Prenatalgyn significantly improved my morning sickness, this was a huge blessing (if you've ever had morning sickness you know what I mean!). I was able to swallow the capsules easily. I also seemed to have a better appetite, and it included all of the most important ingredients at the right amounts. Prenatalgyn does not contain any artificial colors, preservatives, or hydrogenated oils which are not good to have. I would highly recommend Prenatalgyn if you're pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
